Placenta Encapsulation: $300
Optional Add Ons: Tincture $30, Salve $20, Printmaking or Dreamcatcher $20
Placenta Encapsulation is a process utilizing Traditional Chinese Medicine practices. The purpose of placenta ingestion is to provide nourishment to mom's body after birth with hormones, vitamins and minerals that are lost after birth. The placenta is an exceptional, sacred gift from nature that mom can use to benefit her and baby.
Placenta ingestion is known to have possible benefits such as:
Preventing and lessening the risk of postpartum depression or "baby blues".
Replenishing your iron from blood loss during birth and help prevent postpartum anemia.
Lending you consistant flow of oxytocin even after your birth euphoria ends.
Providing the HPL hormone to help with early and healthy breast milk supply.
To stabilize your ever changing hormones post birth.
To replenish your B vitamins and energy that were used during the labor and birth process.
Protection from infection due to retained placenta tissue or membranes.
Offer natural pain relief from the labor and birth of the baby.
More about each placenta product:
Placenta Encapsulation- Encapsulation is the most common way to ingest the placenta. I use the Traditional Chinese Method in which I steam the placenta to replenish heat properties that are lost after birth (known as Qi in TCM) and then dehydrate it. This is used to provide above benefits in a simple and gentle way!
Tincture- This is a great way to utilize longevity of your placenta since tinctures have an indefinite shelf life if stored properly. This process uses a small portion of the placenta and ferments for 6 weeks in 100+ proof alcohol. It is used to support energy levels, stress, hormone stabilization, and great for returning cycles and menopause.
Salve- Placenta salves/balms are another great way to optimize longevity of your placenta. This process infuses herbs, placenta capsule powder, beeswax, and a blend of oils to create a balm. It can be used on belly birth incisions (cesarean), which will lessen the scarring, itching and discomfort. It can also be used postpartum for hermorrhoids, perineal tearing, burns, diaper rash, eczema, sunburn and skin irritation.
Printmaking & Dreamcatchers- These are options if you would like a keepsake from your birth experience and want to honor the vessel that sustained the gift of life in your womb!
Notes on pricing: Discounts are offered with HypnoBirthing® classes and other services! My devotion to supporting my community drives my desire to have my services be accessible to all women.
